we love...

We love how exchanging vows here happens with nothing but open sky, silence, and the gorge stretching out beyond you.

What's so special about Almières Retreat?

Almières Retreat | An Intimate Hideaway Above the Tarn Gorge

Tucked away in the wild beauty of the Grands Causses in Occitanie, Southern France, Almières Retreat is the kind of place you almost expect to keep secret. Set within a DarkSky Park and UNESCO listed landscape, this restored farmhouse and former sheep hamlet sits high above the dramatic Tarn River Gorge, surrounded by ten hectares of serene open land, silence, and sky.

Originally dating back to 1716, the property has been thoughtfully reimagined by hosts Marise and Monia as a refined eco retreat where modern rustic character meets quiet luxury. Stone walls, soft textures, and locally sourced furnishings give the spaces warmth and authenticity, while modern comforts are subtly layered in. Nothing feels overdone, everything feels intentional and a wedding at Almières is guaranteed to be exactly that.

Almières Retreat is designed for deeply personal celebrations. Weddings here are intimate by nature, with space for up to 20 guests for both the ceremony and receptions. There are seven rooms sleeping up to 14 guests on site, including five suites and a two bedroom cottage, making it ideal for hosting your closest people across a slow, meaningful stay. Exclusive use comes as standard, along with full supplier flexibility, allowing couples to shape the experience entirely around them.

Days unfold gently. A cosy spa awaits, featuring a sauna, indoor and outdoor hot tub, the outdoor with sweeping views over the gorge. There is dedicated space for yoga, qi gong, massage, and breath work, all offered by the hosts – or you and your guests may choose to slow down completely and do nothing at all. Beyond the retreat, local guides lead hikes, foraging walks, river trips, and visits to nearby villages including Sainte Enimie, often named among the most beautiful towns in France.

Reaching Almières Retreat feels like part of the journey. Rodez Airport is just over an hour away with direct connections from Paris, while Montpellier offers a slightly longer but scenic route.

New to weddings and refreshingly untouched, Almières Retreat offers couples the rare chance to be among the first to marry in a place that feels entirely their own.

Nearest Airports: Rodez airport (RDZ) 1 hr 9 min (74.5 km) and serviced twice daily from Paris. Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport (MPL) 2 hr 4 min (172 km).

What Couples Say

“In Almières, everything is order and beauty, calm luxury and pleasure… A little “corner of the world” just a few hours from Paris for an intimate escape, a space where magic happens, a true invitation to travel. Thank you Marise and Monia for these incredible moments you offer us to experience and share.”

What Couples Say

“There are places that soothe, and there are places that enchant – Almières is quietly, profoundly both. Beneath the stars of the Tarn, I found more than the lifelong friend I came for: I found enchantment threaded through every breath.”
