What's so special about Finca la Concepción?
Finca la Concepción – A Historic Andalusian Estate Hidden Among Tropical Gardens
Just outside Marbella, Finca la Concepción feels a world away from the Costa del Sol. Hidden within acres of botanical gardens, towering palms and citrus groves, this beautifully restored Andalusian estate is one of those venues that reveals something new around every corner. Grand in scale yet surprisingly peaceful, it offers a setting that feels steeped in history without ever becoming overly formal.
Originally established in 1837 as one of Spain’s first iron foundries, the estate has been thoughtfully restored, with remnants of its industrial past sitting effortlessly alongside elegant gardens, fountains and centuries-old architecture. The manor house itself is particularly striking, welcoming guests through a beautifully preserved church doorway dating back more than 200 years, while the original foundry structures remain woven into the landscape, giving the estate a character that’s entirely its own.
One of Finca la Concepción’s greatest strengths is the way a wedding naturally flows through the grounds. Rather than spending the entire day in one location, each part of the celebration can unfold somewhere different. Ceremonies beneath mature trees lead effortlessly into drinks among the fountains before guests make their way into the gardens for dinner and dancing beneath the Andalusian sky. The estate feels expansive without ever losing its intimacy, making it just as well suited to smaller celebrations as it is to weddings of several hundred guests, with capacity for up to 1,200.
Available on an exclusive-use basis, couples have complete freedom to shape the day around their own vision. The venue’s flexible approach to catering and suppliers allows you to work with your preferred professionals or draw on experienced local teams, creating a celebration that feels entirely personal rather than package-led. As with many outdoor venues, contingency options can be discussed directly with the team to ensure the day runs seamlessly should the weather require it.
For destination weddings, practicality is equally appealing. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is around 40 minutes away, making travel straightforward for guests while the estate itself feels wonderfully secluded once you arrive.
Finca la Concepción is ideal for couples looking for somewhere with genuine character and a remarkable story to tell. Historic without feeling traditional, elegant without feeling overly polished, it’s a venue where beautiful gardens, Andalusian heritage and complete creative freedom come together to create a wedding that feels effortlessly memorable.
Nearest Airports: Finca la Concepción is located in an easily accessible location for your wedding guests travelling in from abroad – just 55–60 km (40–45 minutes) away from Málaga Airport (AGP).

Transportation
RENFE runs high-speed trains across the country and towns such as Madrid and Barcelona have their own Metro networks. Look for the green light if you want to hail a taxi in the street – Spanish taxis wont take more than four people at a time and they’re harder to find on Friday and Saturday nights. Most cities have plenty of buses with tickets available on board or at estancos (tobacconists).
Public Holidays
All the big religious holidays such as Easter and Christmas, as well as Three Kings Day/ Epiphany (6th January), Labour Day (1st May) and Hispanic Day (12th October). Many of the regions have their own local public holidays, such as Balearic Day in the Balearic Islands (1st March).
