“Wow…where do we even start with Cigarral de las Mercedes. We just had our wedding here and it was beyond what we had imagined. We found this venue through Google and while we did not live locally, the wedding co-ordinator, Emma, made our entire experience flawless. She was very on top of every detail and had great professionalism and communication skills. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with her and we even had her officiate our wedding! If you are having a wedding abroad, this is the place to pick as they’ll make you feel taken care of despite being thousands of miles away. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. Nothing can beat that view overlooking Toledo and our friends all raved about the locale. Toledo is also super close to Madrid (~35 min train ride) so for all of us flying from the US, it was extremely accessible. We had a seafood bar, a paella bar, and a churros stand which really knocked our experience out of the park. THE FOOD is amazing. It easily beat some of the Michelin star restaurants that I’ve enjoyed in the past. There were 20+ varieties of appetizers the restaurant served during cocktail hour. My favorite detail was that Cigarral even prepared some appetizers especially for our vegetarian friends which shows an attention to detail far beyond what we’ve expected. Honestly, I don’t know any other venue that would do what Cigarral did for us (and we looked at a lot in Spain and Portugal). They have their own chefs, florists, decorators and work with an extensive list of vendors where we picked our photographers, violinists/pianists for the ceremony, a guitarist for the reception, and the DJ. All in all, I almost wish we could get married a second time so I could enjoy the day again!”
