we love...

Villa Catalina´s stunning bodega (wine-cellar) can seat up to 200 guests and is a beautiful alternative (or addition) to their outdoor patio – many couples choose to make use of both.

What's So Special About Villa Catalina?

A beautifully renovated 18th Century Catalan Villa nestled in the Northern Spanish Countryside in Barcelona. The exclusive 2000 m² Villa still preserves all of the historic elements that make it unique – the views over the Mediterranean landscapes and the Penedés vineyards are stunning.

Set within 400 acres of secluded private grounds, although just a few minutes by car, to the sea Villa Catalina combines history with every modern amenity. It benefits from a large curved pool set amongst a tropical garden, a jacuzzi and an enormous private courtyard, along with a huge bodega which can also be used as an indoor function room should you need it. In 2021, the bodega was completely renovated to accommodate large parties and events (up to 250 guests). With newly installed lighting and finished rustic wine casks against the polished floors, the underground wine cellar is the perfect space to set up your wedding breakfast should you not fancy dining al fresco.

The property has 16 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, with a capacity for 34 overnight guests (or 48 with additional in-villa sleeping options!). If your dream is to say “I do” in a beautiful Spanish villa near the sea, Villa Catalina can certainly help you make it a reality.

Villa Catalina is an easy to reach destination for your guests travelling from abroad – just 30km (25 mins) from Barcelona Airport (BCN) and 1 and a half hours (136km) from Girona Airport.

Transportation

RENFE runs high-speed trains across the country and towns such as Madrid and Barcelona have their own Metro networks. Look for the green light if you want to hail a taxi in the street – Spanish taxis wont take more than four people at a time and they’re harder to find on Friday and Saturday nights. Most cities have plenty of buses with tickets available on board or at estancos (tobacconists).

Public Holidays

All the big religious holidays such as Easter and Christmas, as well as Three Kings Day/ Epiphany (6th January), Labour Day (1st May) and Hispanic Day (12th October). Many of the regions have their own local public holidays, such as Balearic Day in the Balearic Islands (1st March).

Good Time to Go

Late April - Early October

good to know

Spain is recognised as one of the sunniest countries in Europe, with over 300 days of sunshine per year. That sounds like good odd's to us...

What Couples Say

“We held our wedding in Villa Catalina. It was an amazing experience to stay for a few days in such a special, wonderful Spanish house. It felt like living in a castle. Very very happy!”
