What's So Special About Casa Sacoto?
Set just 40 minutes North of Lisbon in central portugal, nestled amongst a beautiful landscape of vineyards and small farming villages, Casa Sacoto is an exclusive and private Portuguese getaway, ideally suited to intimate micro weddings.
While the rustic atmosphere and memories of another time of this century-old house still remain, its renovation and decoration reveal a natural and minimal beauty in every detail.
Casa Sacoto consists of the beautiful main house, which has a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen and two bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, there are also two separate studios for 2-3 people with private bathrooms and small kitchenette. Sleeping 10 in total, the accommodation is ideal for your immediate family and or bridal party who can enjoy spacious communal areas together but also enjoy some privacy.
The well-manicured garden with century old trees provides idyllic options for alfresco dining on your wedding day. In addition to the beautiful outdoor spaces, Casa Sacoto also provides an exquisitely decorated salon with a mezzanine which has views over the surrounding rural setting that stands out for its authentic and simple beauty.
Some of the best western beaches are just a short 30-minute drive, these include Praia Azul, Praia das Amoeiras and Praia Santa Cruz. The small town of Torres Vedras lies twenty minutes west and is worth a stop if you’re heading to the coast. With quaint cobbled stone streets and an imposing 13th-century castle, it’s a beautifully atmospheric and historic spot worth exploring.

Lisbon has both a metro and tram system and other locations around the country are well supplied with buses and trains. Taxis are pretty economical and you don’t have to tip.

Alongside New Year, Christmas and Easter, the Portuguese celebrate Republic Day (5thOctober), Freedom Day (25th April) and Restoration of Independence Day (1st December). Religious holidays such as Assumption (15th August) are also respected.
