What's So Special About Convento dell'Annunciata?
A stunning 15th century family estate, Convento dell’Annunciata is nestled within the beautiful Italian countryside just a stones throw away from Lake Garda. We were taken with Convento dell’Annunciata the moment we saw the stunning grounds – the cloisters scream DREAMY ITALIAN WEDDING (FYI, a cloister is a type of covered walkway, typically found in religious buildings).
Convento dell’Annunciata is a show stopping destination wedding venue that offers up a collection of unique indoor and outdoor spaces to host your ceremony, receptions drinks and evening reception. You can opt for a natural ceremony setting amongst the beautiful dense green woodland or within the quintessentially Italian renaissance gardens or a legal ceremony inside the preserved convent itself.
For the wedding breakfast, your countless dining options continue but we’d heavily suggest a long rectangular table nestled between the forested area by the lake, with fairylights draped overhead for some pretty iconic al fresco dining– see the images!
We love a venue that affords couples the ability to truly customise their wedding day, now we know this isn’t for everyone (we’re not hating on the pre-made package wedding vibe) BUT Convento dell’Annunciata refrains from setting supplier limitations. The venue will provide you a list of recommended suppliers – so you have the flexibility to choose your own catering team, bar, music, wedding planner or co-ordinator all from their trusted list of suppliers with whom they’ve worked with before.
Although there is no accommodation on site, you’ll find plenty of nearby accommodation perfect for your wedding guests, which can be recommended to you via the venue. In terms of the nearest airports, Montichiari airport is just 16km away and Verona is just 50km away. In terms of location, a wedding celebration at the Convento dell’Annunciata could be the perfect excuse for a long weekend for you and your guests: you can get to Venice or Milan in an hour and a half. Important art cities such as Mantua and Verona can easily be reached in half an hour.

Transportation
Italy has plenty of public transport, from the trains to the metro in cities like Milan. The roads (and Italian drivers) are notoriously terrifying for foreigners so it’s often better to take a taxi than hire a car.
Public Holidays
Each town in Italy has it's own patron saint and shuts down to celebrate the saint’s day each year (e.g. Rome is Sts. Peter and Paul, June 29th). Alongside Christmas and Easter, the other big religious festivals are Epiphany (6th January) and All Saints Day (1st November). All of Italy celebrates Labour Day (1st May) and also Liberation Day (April 25th).
