we love...

A romantic alfresco dinner in the Renaissance gardens, surrounded by cypress trees, fragrant roses, and the soft glow of candlelight. Dining under the Tuscan sky, with Vignamaggioโ€™s estate-grown wine flowing and the rolling Chianti hills as your backdrop, is pure Italian magic.

What's so special about Il Borgo di Vignamaggio?

Il Borgo di Vignamaggio is halfway between Florence and Siena, nestled within a completely unspoilt landscape of streams, forests and ancient villages.

Transportation

Italy has plenty of public transport, from the trains to the metro in cities like Milan. The roads are notoriously terrifying for foreigners so itโ€™s often better to take a taxi than hire a car.

Public Holidays

Each town in Italy has it's own patron saint and shuts down to celebrate the saintโ€™s day each year (e.g. Rome is Sts. Peter and Paul, June 29th). Alongside Christmas and Easter, the other big religious festivals are Epiphany (6th January) and All Saints Day (1st November). All of Italy celebrates Labour Day (1st May) and also Liberation Day (April 25th).

Good Time to Go

Late April - Mid October

good to know

For those seeking a summer wedding in Italy, itโ€™s best to avoid the second half of August as most of Italy tends to take two weeks off after the holiday of Assumption of the Virginon, 15th August.

What Couples Say

“We feel honoured to have been the first couple to โ€˜Christenโ€™ Il Borgo for our wedding. Words canโ€™t express the joy this space bought us, our friends and family. The restoration of il Borgo is both sensitive to the history of Vignamaggio and simultaneously competes with a global standard of the best hospitality interiors, architecture and design. The staff have been carefully curated to also provide a global standard of hospitality to guests. We are forever grateful.”
