we love...
Their venue name and philosophy were inspired by the Talking Heads song ‘This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)’, which songwriter David Byrne describes as:
“A real honest kind of love song… I tried to write one that wasn’t corny, that didn’t sound stupid or lame the way many do. I think I succeeded.”
He did, and they intend to too.

what's so special about This Must Be The Place?
This Must Be The Place is a suitably apt name for this stunning wedding and events venue near Barcelona in Spain. Located just 1 hour in land from Girona Airport, set atop the rolling hills of Northern Spain, this 18th-century ‘Mas Casamitjana’ farmhouse has been lovingly restored in a modern rustic style by (the absolutely lovely) British owners Jo & Duncan.
The rooms, barns, courtyards and gardens have been carefully designed to offer you several unique spaces to celebrate each element of your special day. We can’t get enough of the views from this epic location and your guests won’t either, we’re certain of that.
While most venues in this part of the world offer a ‘plan B’ in case of bad weather (sadly it can also rain in Spain, just not that often and not always on the plain), most people regard this venue’s under cover space as part of their plan A. ‘Els Graners’ – 3 large double-height conjoined barns that form an L shape and interconnect through a majestic arch. They open out on 2 sides through large bi-fold doors to connect with the central courtyard (‘El Barri’). With these doors closed it can seat up to 180 people for a wedding banquet, open them up and it expands to over 200. Not that you need to banquet here mind you… there are plenty of other options. You might just want to use this space for dancing under the huge mirrorball.
This Must Be The Place has been created by British owners Jo and Duncan. They came to Barcelona with a dream, and have used their experience in UK music festivals and events (Duncan – Bestival / Camp Bestival / Sunday Best) and film production (Jo – films inc ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’), plus a load of hard work, to turn it into a reality. They can’t wait to welcome you to their home.

Transportation
RENFE runs high-speed trains across the country and towns such as Madrid and Barcelona have their own Metro networks. Look for the green light if you want to hail a taxi in the street – Spanish taxis wont take more than four people at a time and they’re harder to find on Friday and Saturday nights. Most cities have plenty of buses with tickets available on board or at estancos (tobacconists).
Public Holidays
All the big religious holidays such as Easter and Christmas, as
well as Three Kings Day/ Epiphany (6th January), Labour Day (1st May) and Hispanic Day (12th October). Many of the regions have their own local public holidays, such as Balearic Day in the Balearic Islands (1st March).

good to know
Spain is recognised as one of the sunniest countries in Europe, with over 300 days of sunshine per year. That sounds like good odd's to us...
